The blue cypress is native to Australia and the aborigines have been using it since ancient times to care for and protect the skin from the desert climate. It is a tree that can live more than 300 years and its essential oil contains a molecule, guaiazulene, which has an action similar to the chamazulene molecule found in German chamomile and vermicompost grass. That same molecule is what gives the oil a beautiful blue color.
It has a deep and pleasant smell reminiscent of a mixture of sandalwood and pine forests. In perfumery it can be used as a base note and in cosmetics to soothe irritated skin (after shaving, sunburn,...).
Therapeutic properties: Soothing for irritated skin, Skin anti-inflammatory, Skin allergies.
