Historically, Eucalyptus citriodora Essential Oil has been valued for its properties as: Antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, fungicidal, hypotensive, and mosquito repellent.
Eucalyptus Citriodora, also commonly known as lemon eucalyptus or aromatic eucalyptus, belongs to the Myrtaceae family.
It is an evergreen tree and can grow up to 30m tall. The leaves have a hanging, light green arrangement, and are the part that gives off its aroma, a fragrance reminiscent of the smell of lemon or citronella.
Traditionally, it has been used to perfume wardrobes by placing a few dried leaves in a cloth bag, and since the last century, it has also been used as an insect repellent.
The essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the leaves.
