Resveratrol is a natural polyphenol present in numerous plants and fruits such as peanuts, blackberries, blueberries, and especially black grapes (skin and seeds, and therefore in red wine).
This substance is produced by plants as a defense against stressful factors, such as injuries, bacterial or fungal infections, ultraviolet radiation from the sun, intense cold, and water restriction, among other factors.
Among the properties of this substance, it is worth highlighting its activity as a cardiovascular protector, anticancer, antiplatelet agent (inhibits the formation of thrombi or blood clots), anti-inflammatory and antiallergic.
There are also numerous scientific studies that demonstrate the benefits of resveratrol as a protector in neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's disease and metabolic disorders such as diabetes.
